BYGONE DAYS
I'd loved to have lived in the bygone days
When women wore bustles and laced up stays.
Buttoned up boots and bonnets of lace.
Pantaloons trimmed with ribbons of blue.
Satin dresses of a lovely hue.
The men were real gentlemen then.
Wooing the ladies where and when.
They would kneel on one knee full of pride.
Hoping to make one their blushing bride.
BABY DEAR
The angels sent you from above.
For me to cherish and love.
With tiny fingers and tiny toes.
Rosebud lips and turned up nose.
Big blue eyes and flaxen curls.
You are a beautiful baby girl.
May Angels watch over your cradle at night.
Keeping you safe till the morning light.
For me to cherish and love.
With tiny fingers and tiny toes.
Rosebud lips and turned up nose.
Big blue eyes and flaxen curls.
You are a beautiful baby girl.
May Angels watch over your cradle at night.
Keeping you safe till the morning light.
JUST A TREE
She stands in a field that's evergreen.
The fairest maiden to be seen.
She stands erect and oh so tall.
Much higher than the garden wall'
She lifts her face to the wind and rain.
And never once does she complain.
She wears a mantle of green and gold.
And never ever will she grow old.
She sways so gently in the breeze.
But after all she's just a tree.
TODAY
Today is such a lovely day.
Flowers are growing all around.
Birds are singing so merrily.
Children playing in the streets.
Mum's taking toddlers for a treat.
To the seaside I heard them say,
Swings and roundabouts will be there.
All for the little ones to share.
Toffee apples and candyfloss.
And maybe then a stick of rock.
Then home to see if the sandman's around
There will be lots of tears tonight I'll be bound.
Flowers are growing all around.
Birds are singing so merrily.
Children playing in the streets.
Mum's taking toddlers for a treat.
To the seaside I heard them say,

SUMMERTIME
Summertime is bright and gay.
With the sun shining through the day.
Flowers are blooming in gardens so fair.
Apple trees, apricots, plums and pears.
Birds are singing a lovely song.
Bees are buzzing as they fly along.
The little stream is something to see.
Running along so merrily.
The summer breeze blow through the trees.
Whisperings sweet nothings to the dancing leaves.
With the sun shining through the day.
Flowers are blooming in gardens so fair.
Apple trees, apricots, plums and pears.
Birds are singing a lovely song.
Bees are buzzing as they fly along.
The little stream is something to see.
Running along so merrily.

Whisperings sweet nothings to the dancing leaves.
THE SUN
The sun has a round friendly face.
When he shines he's full of grace.
When there's a storm and down comes the rain.
His light dims and lights again.
He's not very nice when the weather is bad.
His face is grumpy and he's so sad.
When the weather brightens up again.
The sun comes out with his friendly face
With his charm and still full of grace.
NIGHT
As night draws her mantle of darkness over a sleepy town.
All was hushed and quiet not even a tiny sound.
People sleeping peacefully in their cozy beds.
Babes sleeping soundly God rest their weary heads.
When all at once a gust of wind came blowing through the house.
Shattering the windows and scattering things about.
Then the sound of hail and rain.
Pattering down the window pane.
Thunder rolled across the sky.
A streak of lightening almost caught my eye.
Then all was quiet once again
Except the sound of falling rain.
Pattering down the window pane.
All was hushed and quiet not even a tiny sound.
People sleeping peacefully in their cozy beds.
Babes sleeping soundly God rest their weary heads.
When all at once a gust of wind came blowing through the house.
Shattering the windows and scattering things about.

Except the sound of falling rain.
Pattering down the window pane.
ON SAFARI
I went on safari some time ago.And watched the monkeys sway to and fro.
Elephants were walking by.
Giraffes were stretching their necks to the sky.
Tigers were enjoying themselves in the sun.
Lions looking after their little ones.
Hyenas were laughing in the trees.
I'm sure two or three of them were laughing at me.
Cheetahs were stood around.
Keeping their noses to the ground.
Nature' s clever in many ways.
She can bring us laughter.
Or bring us tears,
Elephants were walking by.
Giraffes were stretching their necks to the sky.
Tigers were enjoying themselves in the sun.
Lions looking after their little ones.
Hyenas were laughing in the trees.
I'm sure two or three of them were laughing at me.
